Q & A - About Gymnastics and U-M

At what age did you start gymnastics?   5
How did you become involved in gymnastics?   I was doing cartwheels around school and a friend suggested to my mom I start gym classes.
What is your favorite event? Why?   Bars, because I love to swing and I’m the most confident on this event.

What attracted you to the University of Michigan?   The team girls and the combination of good academics and athletics.
What is it like competing for U-M?   It’s a great feeling and a lot of responsibility. Also, I have a great deal of pride when I compete for Michigan.
What has been your most memorable (gymnastics) moment at U-M?   My first meet back after making a full recovery from ACL surgery.
What has been your most memorable (non-gymnastics) moment at U-M?   Being able to make any situation fun when we are together. We can always have a memorable moment when we are out.

What inspires you to keep going after a disappointing meet or a tough week of practice?   The determination and drive to get better and strive for perfection, and to help the team by working hard and getting better.
What advice would you share with up-and-coming gymnasts who aspire to be like you or one of your teammates?   Keep working hard and don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t do something. If you want it bad enough, deep down you will make it happen. Never give up.
