STORIES FOR SIMON
Friends fulfill cancer patient's wish
(August 7, 2004) Church friends held an Alex's Lemonade Stand in honor of Simon last weekend and got the attention of a medical reporter at the Salt Lake Tribune. The article appeared in today's paper (front page), with photos of Simon and great quotes from the kids who held the stand.

Simon's hospice nurse, Chris, shared this story with us on August 1, 2004.

Author spreads cheer to young cancer patients By Janet Vandenabeele / The Detroit News
Simon and Mary made it into the Detroit News on December 24, 2002 after they enjoyed a special event for children in the infusion/playroom at the UM Cancer Center. Local author and cancer survivor Carl Sams read his book "Stranger in the Woods" and handed out generous gift packs to the children.
Didn't find the story on the Detroit News Web site? Let us know! We'll add a separate page with the files if/when the story leaves the Web.
